How is the playground Eco-friendly?
My group used cardboard,cotton and vanguard cardboard and these are the materials which is Eco-friendly.We used these material because it could be recycled and it could be reused so it would not destroy and cause inconvenience to the environment.It is a good thing that we used recycled materials for our playground as it shows we care about the environment and this would help save the earth by stopping the o-zone layer thickness to be thin and having less places being littered.We used cardboard because we could decrease the number of new cardboard being made.This could also decrease the process of cutting down trees or deforestation.
How is the design linked to the novel?
Our playground have features such as the rope swing,a swing,the bridge,an art room and two tree houses.The rope swing is inspired from the swing Leslie and Jesse use to swing across the lake to the secret kingdom called Terabithia.The bridge is inspired from the bridge Jesse build that will link to Terabithia.The art room was inspired by Jesse's passion of drawing and painting.The two tree houses is inspired by the tree house Jesse and Leslie built at Terabithia.The swing was inspired from the novel when Leslie told Jesse about Janice.
How does it help the children?
The rope swing,swing and the bridge helps to boost the child confidence because the swings and bridge is quiet high and children with emotional scars have a lack of confidence in their life and they also sometimes think negative about themselves as they are usually abused by their parents.The art room is a good place where children could draw to express and share their feelings by drawing.This could also help the children to have fun and forget their problems when they are drawing.The tree house could help them relax their mind and hang out in the tree house.
