Why did Leslie died offstage in the movie?
- Leslie died offstage in the movie as the movie producer would not want to convey to the audience on how she died as that will destroy everything. Maybe, the movie producer wants the audience to think how she died. If he were to show how Leslie Burke died in the movie, there will also be no suspense and climax in the show.

Who is the dark lord to Jess?
- The dark lord to Jess would be his father. His father does not exhibit his care and concern for Jess but instead, he would be reprimanding Jess for his actions. Jess was desperate to impress his father but it turned out to be a failure. In the movie, when Jess freed the animal that was trapped in the animal trap, his dad told him that this is not one of his drawings anymore. Thus, Jess was stunned upon hearing that and was feeling really down. This is the reason why Jess's father represents the dark lord.

Who is the dark lord to Leslie?
- For Leslie, the dark lord represents her friends. As we all know, she is new to the school and the school atmosphere would definitely be different. Hence, it would be quite difficult for Leslie to make new friends instantly. All the girls in the school thought that Leslie was a strange and a peculiar girl due to the way she dresses. According to the movie, all her friends roared with laughter when she blurted out that she did not own a television. Because of this, everyone found her really weird. Thus, her friends represent the dark lord to Leslie.

Who is the dark lord to myself?
- As for me, my dark lord is the dead, bundled up in white cloth. I have never seen one, in real life but the image of it in movies, freaks me out. Its all bundled up in white cloth and it has a tie knot at the top of their head. That sight is totally scary. I know that i will definitely be facing it one day or another, but, thats my phobia and i cannot help it. Thus, i think the dead, bundled up in white cloth is the dark lord to me.

Which do you prefer? The movie or the novel? Why?
- To me, i preferred the movie to the novel as the movie is much more interesting than the novel. Reading just the book was really fun but somehow, the great feeling was not there as i could not watch how the story goes along. The movie was much better as it involves more drama and more actions than in the book. The movie also contains more conflicts, suspense and climax. When I watched the movie, i had a variety of feelings. When Leslie died, I was experiencing the sorrowful feeling. When Jess and Leslie were enjoying themselves, it was the joyful and happy feeling. When Janice Avery threw the bread at Jess's shirt, it was the pissed feeling. When reading the book, it was only the same feeling over and over again. By watching the movie also, we can compute what really had happened in the novel and we could even understand better. When reading the book, the questions that were racing in my mind about the novel could not be answered. Hence, I enjoyed the movie much better than the novel!
